How did it get discovered?

The credit of Discovering the Fibonacci Sequence is given to Leonardo of Pisa, an Italian mathematician who later because of this profound discovery was knows as, "Fibonacci". In his book "Liber Abaci", he presented the famous problem about rabbit population growth. As he was trying to solve this problem, he noticed a pattern when adding the numbers together, 1,1,2,3,5,8,13,... etc. The pattern was that each number was the sum of the two numbers before it, and this later on became known as the Fibonachi sequence.

But was Leonardo of Pisa really the true founder? Well before Lenardo of Pisa used the fibonacci sequence to solve his rabbit problem, there were similar patterns that appeared in India in 200 BC. So why is the discovery named after him? Since he was the one that introduced the Fibonacci numbers to West Europe, that knowledge had become widely known because of his book "Liber Abaci (The Book of Calculation)".
